Research Project 4: The challenges and opportunities for the implementation of lifestyle medicine healthcare model

Study goal: To identify the challenges and opportunities for the implementation of lifestyle medicine healthcare models in the Global South (Low- and Middle-Income Countries)

Combined study questions 

1. What are the socioeconomic and cultural barriers and enablers (challenges and opportunities) that impact the introduction, implementation, and sustainability of lifestyle medicine healthcare models in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)?

2. How can lifestyle medicine healthcare models in LMICs be effectively designed and integrated to address the social determinants of health, including social prescribing, and what are the financial mechanisms for sustaining these services?

3. To what extent are primary healthcare systems in LMICs prepared to implement lifestyle medicine healthcare models, with a specific focus on the dual burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases in some of the LMICs?
